England and USA both drew it back on 1-1 scores, bringing the match on a tie. None of the teams seems satisfied with the performance and both can be seen grudging even today. England played it really well in the beginning and the people had already started anticipating its victory, till USA came back in full force to score something for itself. Dempsey was the one who hit it to the equalizer, and was found stating “Don’t know why that is, you could just sense it a little bit. Even though they did score early, when we came back and we equalized, they just seemed edgy. They really did”. England was constantly pushed down under the pressures of an expecting nation, pinning too much hope to its winning over the game this time.
England and USA both are major playing teams playing for FIFA football cup, who were largely being debated in the pre game preparations. It was the first match played under the group C in the Bafokeng stadium on 12th of June in 2010. The England team captain Rio Ferdinand was injured during the training session, and had to be replaced by the Dawson acting the captain. This sudden change of the caption can also be read as the pressure raising factor for England. This match was a match of honor, in which the loosing team would have suffered a lasting pain. With the result, the team players might relax on the honor level.
